LEM by GeneralmusicTour Master / Digiprox System
Professional Sound Reinforcement System

Product Information

Tour Master / Digiprox is a professional sound diffusion system that is suitable for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications in permanent or mobile installations. The system comprises the Digiprox digital processor and speaker cabinets from the Tour Master series, which can be combined in different configurations.

Tour Master and Digiprox were created with a combination of dedicated digital tecnology specifically developed for this project and advanced computer-aided acoustic design techniques that allowed the highest possible standards of optimization to be applied to every single construction detail, from the shape and structure of cabinet shells to the various components made to exacting Generalmusic specifications.

The end result is a sound diffusion system with remarkable performance characteristics:

  • unprecedented operating versatility, thanks to a range of different response curve presets memorized in the processor, selectable manually or via MIDI; these presets allow the sound characteristics of the system to be modified to suit the type of music being played and the conditions of use.
  • compact dimensions allied to high power output;
  • exceptional reliability guaranteed by constant control of the power sent to transducers, with monitoring of current and voltage parameters.

Tour Master Series

The Tour Master Series is composed of two models, TM 18.3 and TM 15.2 Fly.

TM 18.3 is a 3-way tri-amplified system featuring two separate cabinets for the MID-HIGH and LOW sections. The MID-HIGH cabinet has a 10" speaker for mid-range frequencies and a 2" compression driver for high frequencies. Both these speakers are horn-loaded, using controlled-directivity horns that have been optimized for the frequency range in which they operate. The LOW section has two 18" speakers for low frequencies, mounted in band-pass configuration. Both cabinets are equipped with 4 wheels and 4 metal handles for easy transport, and flying hardware with 9 flying points also allow them to be suspended.

TM 15.2 FLY is a 2-way bi-amplified system that can be used as a full-range diffusor or as the MID-HIGH section of a 3-way system that uses the LOW section of TM 18.3. TM 15.2 FLY is fitted with a 15" speaker in bass-reflex configuration for low frequencies and a 2" horn-loaded compression driver for high frequencies. Cabinets have a trapezoid base and 6 flying points, allowing them to be combined in arrays or suspended structures.

All cabinet shells of the Tour Master Series are made in 13-ply birch plywood, finished in scratch-resistant paint and protected with foam and a metallic grille. This exceptionally robust structure allows Tour Master to withstand the roughest conditions of live concerts. Speakon 4-way connectors are used on all Tour Master models.

Digiprox

Digiprox is a 3-way stereo digital processor that has been specifically developed to give complete control over the various Tour Master systems, allowing them to operate in optimal conditions at all times.

At the heart of Digiprox is the Convy microchip, engineered by Generalmusic to ensure accurate control over the most important parameters that determine the final quality of audio signals, achieving levels of precision that are impossible with conventional analog equipments. Convy is one of the most powerful microchips available for applications of this type, featuring a high-density structure (over 250,000 transistors in 2.5 x 2.5 cm), a processing speed of 50 million operations per second and 38-bit precision.

Digiprox uses 18-bit A/D and D/A Delta-Sigma converters with a sampling frequency of 48 kHz to carry out a series of highly sophisticated functions in a totally digital environment, controlling all system parameters and guaranteeing absolute conditions of safety.

The main functions implemented in Digiprox include:

  1. Crossover 100 dB/oct: Digiprox creates crossover filters with perfectly linear phases and maximum slopes up to 100 dB/oct, ensuring optimal distribution of energy between the different sections of the diffusor even in the vicinity of crossover zones.
  2. Equalization filters: Digiprox acts on signal frequency response with extreme precision, with a resolution of 512 steps (up to 1/100 of an octave on high frequencies). FIR digital filter technology intervenes independently on signal phase and amplitude, avoiding phase rotations and ensuring perfect signal linearity at all frequencies.
  3. Acoustic alignment of components: six different digital delay lines, each assigned to a specific section, are used to compensate for mechanical disalignment between diffusor transducers, guaranteeing a constant sound emission front.
  4. Protection and monitoring system: Digiprox incorporates a complete protection system that provides constant monitoring of current and voltage parameters on the power cables arriving from amplifiers, which pass through the processor before reaching the diffusors. This ensures constant control over maximum power levels sent from the amplifiers to transducers.

Each section of the two Digiprox stereo channels is independently monitored. If parameter values exceeding normal operating safety conditions are detected, 6 different digital limiters using sophisticated algorithms limit the output signal level, with trigger thresholds and time constants that keep the signal whitin levels of perfect safety without impairing sound dynamics.
